Shoulder Stretches
If you are looking to gain more motion in your shoulder, the stretching exercises below will help you achieve your goals. If you've recently had surgery, check with your doctor before performing your stretches to ensure you have had enough time to recovery.
Countertop Stretches
This passive stretch will help you regain your motion in the shoulder without any stress on your rotator cuff tendons. Your hand and arm should rest on the countertop, and you should not push or hold up your weight with your hands. You should perform this stretch 3 times a day. For each session, stretch the shoulder 3-5 times.

External Rotation Stretches
This stretch should be done passively. Use the muscles in your arm to rotate the shoulder. Only use the stick or cane to move the arm to the side. This will help you reach out to the side of your body. You should perform this stretch 3 times a day. For each session, stretch the shoulder 3-5 times out to the side.
